Luisa and Geraldine, Tambak Lorok Researchers

We are Luisa and Geraldine. We are conducting our preliminary research on flood, garbage and environment management at Tambak Lorok Semarang, and now reaching the end of our research. We are very glad to say that Indonesian especially UNISSULA students and local people are very nice. They help us to gather the data we need.

We got difficulties during our first arrival in Semarang as it was very hard to get in angkot and the traffic was so messy. However, being engaged with the local people, sharing the kitchen, and having lunch together at the canteen with various students from different faculties became the things deeply impressed in our mind during our visit.

We are expected to get all the data we need to accomplish our preliminary study on the issue concerned. We then bring the data, and then investigate the problems with our supervisor in order to solve the problem at Tambak Lorok. However, at least, we are now heading to our country with these following recommendations which must be taken into account: Building infrastructures, government contribution, communication with local people, and character building to the children.
